Are you not hearing any sound from your device? Not hearing anything in Webex or just normal WIndows? Then this guide is for you! Follow these simple steps to get your audio back on track!
Let's first start with Webex:
Step 1: After you've started a Webex meeting, click on 'Audio & Video' at the top.
Step 2: Next, you'll want to click on 'Speaker & Microphone settings'.
Step 3: In the new window that pops up, make sure you are on the 'Speaker & Microphone' tab at the top and this is where you're going to want to make sure your audio settings are on the correct channels. Using the image below as a reference, you're going to want to make sure your audio settings are set to your 'Speakers & Headphones' settings. The words in the parentheses might differ on your device: they might say 'Realtek' or 'Conexant'. The important thing to remember is to NEVER use any of the 'Virtual Audio Cable' options. These are what cause the no audio issue in the first place and should never be used.
Step 4: You're going to want to make sure both options in the drop-down 'Speaker' & 'Microphone' lists match each other. So, for example, if your 'Speaker' option is set to 'Realtek' or 'Conexant', you'll want to do the same for your 'Microphone' setting as well, as shown below:
Step 5: That's it! You're done! This is how you configure your audio settings correctly for Webex!
Now, let's do the same for Windows, just in case you're having no audio outside of Webex:
Step 1: In the bottom-left of your screen, in the Search box, type in 'change system sounds' and click on the option shown in the image below:
Step 2: In the new window that pops up, you'll want to click on the far-left tab, labeled 'Playback', and you'll want to find the 'Line 1 - Virtual Audio Cable' option, right-click it and select 'Disable'.
Step 3: You're going to want to do the same exact thing in the 'Recording' tab, located near the top of the window, as shown in the image below:
